Pashupatinath Temple

Made in the 5th century BCE, this is one of the oldest and most popular temples among Hindu devotees. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Lord Pashupatinath, an incarnation of Lord Shiva sits at the center of the temple in the form of an idol. According to Hindu mythology, the jyotirlinga in the Pashupatinath temple is the head of the body made of 12 jyotirlingas. If you are a Hindu, you can enter the temple otherwise you will have to enjoy the temple from outside. Many people come to Nepal only to visit the sacred Pashupatinath Temple.

Boudhunath Stupa

Another sacred site for Buddhists and a popular tourist destination. Also known as Khasi Chaitya, this temple is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The stupa is the highlight of this place and it has been built in the shape of a dome. The stupa is believed to have been made in the 14th century CE by a woman and her son. It is also the largest spherical stupa and is popular among tourists for its gigantic mandala The design of the stupa resembles the Buddhist cosmological tenets.

Swayambhunath Stupa

Located on the top of the famous Semgu Hill, the Swayambhunath Stupa is one of the most splendid and sacred stupas in Nepal. When you get to the top of the hill, you get a panoramic view of the spectacular city of Kathmandu. This stupa is also known as Monkey Temple because of the presence of monkeys around the stupa. The stupa is also famous for its marvelous architecture. The stupa was built by King King Manadeva and you can either climb 365 steps to reach the stupa or drive your way to the top of Semgu Hill through the specially constructed road.

Kathmandu Durbar Square

It is the heart of the city that houses around 50 temples. The Durbar is divided into two sections the outer Shiva-Parvati Temple, Kasthamandap, and Kumari Ghar, and the inner Hanuman Dhoka and the main palace. The entire architecture of the Durbar is breathtaking. The traditional heart of the city once used to be the King’s ruling spot and the kings were crowned at the same Durbar Square.

8:00 AM: Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and then head towards Pokhara. The distance between Pokhara and Kathmandu is 200 km and it will take around 7-8 hours to cover this distance. 10:00 AM: Enjoy your breakfast as this day will be a full-day Pokhara exploration day. After your breakfast, you will have free time which you can utilize to explore Pokhara on your own. Our half-day tour will begin with Davis Fall, the most highlighted spot of Pokhara that is always on the top of the list of places to visit in Pokhara. Enjoy the mystical waterfall and then just a walk away is the Gupteshwar Mahadev Cave. The cave even has a statue of Lord Shiva at the entrance.

We will then move towards Bindhyabasini Temple, located 7.7 km from Gupteshwar Mahadev Cave. Dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati, the Bindhyabasini Temple is another sacred site that you must visit. After seeking blessings at the temple, we will get back on the road and head towards our next destination Phewa Lake. A serene lake that offers peace of mind. Our last destination of the day will be Barahi Temple where we will attend the evening aarti and then head back to the hotel.

Davis Fall

One of the most magnificent waterfalls in Nepal with a strong water force falling from a height of 70 meters. But the magic of this waterfall begins when the water hits the bottom. As soon as the water hits the bottom, it disappears through the tunnels and that gives an illusion to the tourist.

Gupteshwar Mahadev Cave

Another popular tourist destination is located just beside Davis Waterfall. The cave also has religious significance because of the presence of Lord Shiva in the cave. Just after walking for 40-50 meters in the cave, you will see a beautiful statue of Lord Shiva. This is the main reason why many people take their shoes off while entering the temple. The cave is also known as Bhalu Dulo in the local tongue.

Bindhyabasini Temple

Constructed in 1842 B.S, this is one of the most ancient temples in Nepal. The temple was built by the king of Kaski, Siddhi Narayan Malla when he dreamt about building a temple at this location. He then sent his workers to Uttar Pradesh to bring a statue of the goddess and that’s how the legends of the temple go. The temple is now a vital religious hub for Hindus.

Phewa Lake

When the still lake reflects the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, the landscape leaves you speechless. Phewa Lake covers an area of around 4.43 km2 and the average depth of the lake is 8.6 meters. You can also go for a boat ride on the lake and enjoy nature from up close.

Barahi Temple

Also known as the Lake Temple, it is located on a small island in the middle of Phewa Lake. The temple is dedicated to the Goddess Barahi, an incarnation of Goddess Durga.

*The boat ride in Phewa Lake is not included in the package and it is an optional activity. The charge for a boat ride in Pehwa is; ₹500 with a boatman, ₹450, if you paddle yourself. You must rent the lifejacket which will cost only ₹10.

8:00 AM: After completing your breakfast, you will meet our driver who will take you back to Kathmandu. Check in at the hotel, rest and get refreshed. You will have a leisure day in Kathmandu and you can visit the local markets of Kathmandu like Thamel and New Road Gate Market.
